ABSTRACT

This research work has led to the development of an online library system for Nnamdi Azikiwe University that enables users have access to library books at the comfort of their homes, offices, etc., and also enables the management have an accurate account of the books borrowed, referenced and acquired in a day, week, month and as far as a year. The Object Oriented Hypermedia Design Model was used in the analysis and design of the system; this is due to the fact that the model provides an appropriate and efficient way of expressing and explaining the navigational view of the conceptual domain of the system and also helps in proper depiction of the graphical user interface of the system. This system was implemented using JQuery& PHP (for the back-end design), HTML & CSS (for the front-end design), and MYSQL (for the database design). The output of this research work is an online platform that enables library managers manage their daily routine in the library.
