DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN E-COMMERCE AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

ABSTRACT

This project is aimed at developing an e-commerce and inventory management system that will enable users to purchase books and audio lectures online as well as allow shop administrator store the details of the inventory, update the inventory based on the sales details, produce receipts/bills for sales, general sales and inventory report periodically etc. The methodologies used in the development include, Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM) as it helps for a better understanding of the system to be developed to avoid data misinterpretation through the various steps involved and Object Oriented Analysis and Design Methodology (OOADM)whichis used to analyze problem requirements, design a solution to the problem, and implement a solution in a programming language and database. The various technologies used in development includes: Html5, bootstrap, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL (for database). These robust technologies resulted in online bookshop and audio lectures application.
