ABSTRACT

This work mainly concentrates on improving the efficiency of population analysis in a given geographical area. Therefore, it looks at the design and implementation of a population analysis system that will enable the storing and retrieval of first-hand information on the population of a locality; eliminating the manual method of paper and pen thereby saving time. In the course of the project, the Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology was adopted and utilized. The high level model of the proposed system was designed showing the modules and components of the system. Hypertext Pre-Processor (PHP), a procedural language was used in the development of the new system because of its portability. We created a relational database using My SQL for storing and retrieval of information. Finally, the parallel changeover procedure was recommended for the commission to enable them compare the results of the two systems (Existing and New system) before implementation.
