ABSTRACT

The stress which students undergo in the name of clearing out of school has become so severe in that in most cases a lot of casualties are involved as the students tries to transport themselves from wherever they are to the school in the name of coming for clearance. Hence this brought about this research work which is a study and implementation of an online student clearance system with data mining technique that will bring to a stop to all the challenges which the present system is currently facing. The data mining part of the research work was included so as to ease the difficulties in locating a specific student record in the database. The difficulties faced by students as they try clearing out of the school was the major reason why the researchers embarked on this project work. Object Oriented Hypermedia and Design Methodology (OOHDM), was found efficient to Web applications as navigational views over an object model. PHP (Hypertext Protocol) was the programming language used for the back-end programming of this work and HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style sheet) were used for the front-end design. Finally, MYSQL (MY Structured Query Language) was used for the database in order to store necessary information included in the work. The outcome of this project work is a web platform that enables students in the department of Computer Science Nnamdi Azikiwe University to clear out of the school from the comfort of their homes and offices.
